My first Music Publishing work was at Della Music Publishing in New Orleans. I now work at Warner Chappell as a Mechanical License Coordinator and Income Tracker.

So far so good at Warner.  Been a great (almost) 3 months and I’m very happy to be working.  I run the phones so I’ve had great experience taking calls which always have questions about the industry which has helped me master the material better.  I’m not sure yet why a writer would sign with Warner or any major publishing entity as it’d be much more efficient to own your own publishing company (you really only need like 3 or so people) but maybe I’ll ask about that tomorrow.

So far so good at Warner. Been a great (almost) 18 months and I’m very happy to be working. I no longer run the phones but have much more cross department collaboration with coworkers which is nice. I’ve been working with A&R and in exchange for admin help I’ve learned a lot about what their world is like. I’m not sure yet why someone would subject themselves to a major and not make a start up but maybe I’ll ask about that tomorrow. The boys needed publishing help last weekend and maybe someday I actually will haha.
