Writings #11, 12

By Jeremy Kern

Today I rolled the dice and I’m not sure what they read. Possible I both lost and won. Maybe time will tell but it’s probably always both.

Left her sadder than before
Sometimes it goes that way
Never mean nobody harm
Can't keep giving it all
I'm sorry that we can't be friends
When my life reverses at the end
I know I'd shed a tear for you
Late nights thinking
On the stoop with the boys
Families a funny thing
Right that's that then
Now I'm free
to be to be to be honest
to lose to lose to lose
Fights all we've got before the bell
It tolls for thee and I and everything
Dive under the waves
But they know we're there
Hide under a blanket
Might as well
Before it's too late
Come back to bed baby and
Sleep well
Sincerely
Yours, truly
Lord please forgive me
I thought I understood
What you wanted
If I was good
Is being wrong right when right's wrong
No justice no peace
On God that's the verdict
We are the rules
As are the trees and the birds and flowers
Blue green yellow purple red
Failure's tiring
Will I dream tonight
