It’s been 1 year since I started working at WCM. Shit flies by when you smoke too much weed. Good thing I’ve mostly stopped doing that. I like my job enough to keep going for a year so that’s something. Got a raise, learned a lot, spent a lot of time there. Working has helped me hone in on my #1 which is to perform music. Here’s a timeline of how quitting weed directly impacted my life to date: quit weed day after my bday, 3 days later a homie bails on a free show cuz he’s too stoned and I get to go. Get in for free, get to hang out with JD and Domi and have an all around great night. Fast forward a week or so and a friend Willie Green is in town from Nola. We meet up at a jam, shits confusing, recognize this dude with a case heading into the show from backstage at the free show I went to and mention it. At first he’s like what….but I mention some more particulars of the night (name drop) and he opens up about what the jam is and who he is and what’s good. End up getting on stage with him to play. Fast forward a week or so after that and he hits me up to come out and jam at his gig at Apotheke. First time I go I end up getting sick and don’t play. Second time I play an hour+ with Dennis Hamm (damn right). Third time I play an hour+ with Justin Tyson and Justin Brown and other killing musicians (damnnnnnn). Fourth time going is tomorrow night and I said I was gonna learn all of Thundercat’s songs but I smoked weed instead so we’ll see if he shows up. A year at Warner. Like a year at college, or highschool? I have nothing to reference my life to, it feels like. All in all blessings on blessings and the sands keep shifting as time sifts us forward. Going to do a content drop sometime this weekend or something. Got videos and images and writings to share.
